FitConnect ("we", "us", "our") is the controller of your personal data when you use the FitConnect app, website and related services (the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why, how we use it, and your rights.

• Account data: name, email, password, date of birth, city/region.
• Profile data: fitness goals, preferences, budget, photos, and for Trainers: certifications, insurance details, bio, rates, availability, social links.
• Communications: in-app messages, emails and support enquiries.
• Usage & device data: app interactions, pages visited, IP address, device model, OS, crash logs.
• Payment data: where you make in-app purchases via Apple, Apple handles payment data; we receive only transaction confirmation.
• Location: approximate location (city/region) to help you discover Trainers near you, if you allow it.

We use your data to:

• Provide, operate and improve the Platform.
• Enable Clients to search, compare and book independent Trainers. FitConnect does not match, recommend or assign Trainers.
• Review Trainer applications and maintain profile quality.
• Send service messages (confirmations, security alerts, changes to policies).
• Send marketing where permitted (you can opt out any time).
• Detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse and safety issues.
• Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

We process personal data under one or more of: performance of a contract with you; your consent (which you can withdraw); our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Platform; and compliance with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

• Other users of the Platform where necessary to enable discovery, communication or booking (e.g. sharing your first name and enquiry with a Trainer you contact or book).
• Trusted service providers (hosting, database, email delivery, analytics, crash reporting) under contractual data protection obligations.
• Authorities, regulators or law enforcement where required by law or to protect rights, safety or property.
• An acquirer in the event of a corporate transaction (merger, acquisition, restructuring).

Some service providers may be located outside the UK/EEA. Where personal data is transferred internationally we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. When you close your account we delete or anonymise your data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, tax, accounting, dispute or safety reasons.

Depending on your location you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any right, email support@fitconnect.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls and monitoring. No system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Platform is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
